Telegram has returned to its good old update schedule. Before users had time to get used to the fact that now you can launch several mini-apps at the same time in the messenger, the developers released a new version. And the improvements are really big! Now your life will be easier thanks to the browser in Telegram , as well as the built-in store of mini-apps, with which you will forget about Safari and even the App Store . And these are far from all the innovations! Hurry up and take a look at our review of the new Telegram features for iPhone.
Built-in browser in Telegram
Rumors that Telegram will have a browser have been circulating for a long time, but there were almost no specifics. In general, it is quite incorrect to assume that a tool for viewing web pages has appeared only now: it has always been on the iPhone and worked on the basis of a cut-down version of Safari. However, this method is extremely inconvenient for the user due to the speed of operation and the lack of saving passwords. So, it is easier to switch to a normal browser, although this takes some time.
Now you don't have to do this: the link will open in the internal Telegram browser, which will save you time. It now has an address bar, bookmark support, and even search. The browser in Telegram supports clearing the cache, stores history, and allows you to add sites to exceptions. However, in the iOS version, it does not support a built-in search engine compared to Android. The built-in browser cannot be called convenient, since it does not have many of the usual functions, and it may also display some pages incorrectly.
The pages are collapsed as mini-applications and are located on the panel below, so you can safely use Telegram in multitasking mode , reading the news in our channel in the morning. By the way , using the built-in browser is not at all necessary: you can go to Safari by pressing the button on the bottom panel or disable this feature altogether. All you need to do is go to Settings - "Data and memory", and then select another application.
Telegram App Store
Recently, mini-apps have been gaining popularity in Telegram. In particular, thanks to Hamster Kombat, users learned that there are quite a lot of different clickers and games in the messenger. Now they can all be found in one place and launched instantly - it is very easy to do.
- Click on the search bar in Telegram.
- Select the Applications tab.
- Click on any application from the list or find the one you need by name.
- Now each of them has its own card with a launch button and screenshots for preview. From here you can also turn off notifications from the mini-application, as well as see the number of active users per month to distinguish the real application from the fake.
Once you open the app in Telegram, it automatically becomes used and gets into the corresponding list, so you don't have to look for a chat to stop or block. It is editable, so unnecessary chats can be deleted from recent ones. So your favorite Hamster Combat will now always be at hand!
By the way, you can now send posts directly to stories from mini-apps . You can generate a picture and upload it with a simple click of a button, avoiding creating a screenshot and cluttering up your gallery.
What's new in Telegram
The mini-app store and built-in browser are the main innovations today. There are other small improvements from the latest update.
- Cover for stories in Telegram: you can choose any frame from the video as a preview.
- Flash when recording circles: just launch it and click on the lightning icon, then the screen will become bright and highlight your face in the frame. We take this.
- Current weather widget for stories.
- The ability to gift Telegram Stars to one of your friends so that they can make purchases within the messenger. Previously, they could only be purchased for themselves.
- Browser tabs and mini-apps in Telegram on macOS : the messenger for PC has become multifunctional, so you don’t need to switch between different programs and waste RAM.
That's all for now, but let me remind you that Telegram's birthday is coming up on August 14. And that means we're probably in for a big surprise from the developers in the form of a major update. It's hard to say what to expect.
